Job Description

Medical City Healthcare seeks a PRN Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality respiratory care in an acute care environment. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will perform patient assessments, administer oxygen and nebulizer therapies, manage ventilators and non-invasive ventilation, and interpret ABGs and other diagnostic tests. You will respond to respiratory emergencies, document accurately in the EMR, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities Deliver respiratory care including oxygen, nebulizer treatments, and airway management per provider orders. Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and non-invasive ventilation devices safely. Perform patient assessments and interpret respiratory status, ABGs, and oximetry results. Respond to respiratory emergencies and codes, providing CPR and airway support. Document all care, assessments, and outcomes accurately in the EMR. Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop and update care plans. Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, therapies, and self-care. Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times. Participate in equipment checks, calibration, and basic troubleshooting. Support cross-functional initiatives to improve respiratory care protocols and patient outcomes.
