1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift assignment supporting adult med/surg, adult critical care, and general pediatric patients with Trauma Level II experience required. Details Care for adult med/surg, adult critical care, and general pediatric patient populations Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00 Facility may accommodate a block schedule of 3 shifts in a row, but this is not guaranteed and no longer stretches will be scheduled Cerner charting system experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred Trauma Level II experience required Requirements Current RRT certification required (CRT not accepted) License required if applicable Minimum 2 years of experience in the profession Prior travel experience required Required certifications:
ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
Skilled in ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillator, and IMV Experience with airway management including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and high frequency jet ventilator Experience administering medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, and other respiratory medications Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and fresh tracheostomy Experience with pulmonary function testing including spirometry Additional Information Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric settings Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and sputum specimen collection Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal intubation as needed Manage patients on various ventilator types including oscillating and high frequency jet ventilators Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
