Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a PRN Certified Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care to diverse patient populations. In this role, you will assess, plan, and deliver respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and diagnostic testing. You will collaborate closely with physicians and nurses, respond to respiratory emergencies, and ensure accurate documentation. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and implement physician-ordered treatment plans Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory modalities Manage and monitor ventilators and non-invasive respiratory support equipment Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy as needed Respond to respiratory emergencies and perform airway management interventions Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members on care plans Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment, and therapies Document all assessments, treatments, and responses in the electronic medical record Maintain equipment, ensure proper infection control, and follow safety protocols Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to HCA Healthcare clinical standards Required Skills Respiratory assessment Ventilator management Oxygen therapy administration Arterial blood gas analysis Nebulizer and aerosol therapy Airway management Emergency response for respiratory distress Patient and family education Electronic medical record documentation Infection control practices
