Job Description

Intermountain Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for our Homecare team to deliver high-quality respiratory care in patients' homes. In this field-based role, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, set up and manage oxygen and ventilator equipment, and provide hands-on education to patients and caregivers. You'll collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and case managers to ensure safe transitions from hospital to home, monitor clinical progress, and document care in our electronic health record. Responsibilities Provide in-home respiratory assessments, treatments, and education for patients using oxygen, ventilators, and related equipment Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot home respiratory therapy equipment ensuring safe and effective use Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and case managers to develop and adjust individualized care plans Monitor patient progress, document clinical findings, and report changes in condition promptly Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, medication use, and equipment maintenance Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control, and regulatory requirements in the home setting Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow evidence-based respiratory care protocols Support hospital-to-home transitions, coordinating delivery of equipment and training for discharge patients Maintain accurate electronic health records and timely documentation in line with organizational policies Contribute to a patient-centered, compassionate culture and serve as a resource to interdisciplinary teams Required Skills Respiratory assessment and treatment planning Ventilator and oxygen therapy management Home medical equipment setup and troubleshooting Patient and caregiver education Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Infection control and home safety practices Care coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration Clinical decision-making and problem-solving Pulmonary rehabilitation and disease management (COPD, asthma, CHF) Regulatory and reimbursement knowledge for homecare services
