Duties Assess patient respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, blood gases, and physical examinations. Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and medication administration tailored to individual patient needs. Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, oxygen systems, and other respiratory devices to support patient breathing. Manage airway procedures including intubation, extubation, and airway clearance techniques in emergency situations or scheduled interventions. Respond promptly to cardiac arrest emergencies with advanced airway management and ventilator support while collaborating with the healthcare team. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and medical terminology standards. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to contribute insights on patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Skills Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and pulmonology principles relevant to respiratory therapy. Proven experience in hospital medicine environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), neonatal units, and trauma centers. Strong proficiency in ventilator management, airway management techniques, and respiratory device operation. Ability to perform patient assessments effectively across inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on acute care needs. Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation. Skilled in responding swiftly during critical moments such as cardiac arrests or respiratory emergencies with confidence and professionalism. Experience working with diverse populations including neonates, pediatrics, geriatrics, and patients requiring complex respiratory support. Adept at using medical equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to hospital protocols for infection control and safety standards.
