1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for an acute care position requiring RRT certification and 1+ years of experience. Details Acute care setting covering inpatient, ER, ICU, and medical-surgical floors Handles 20-25 treatments per day, typically with 2 RTs per shift Mainly adult patients with minimal pediatric and neonatal cases May be called to attend high-risk deliveries, though infrequent Uses Cerner EMR (facility transitioning to Epic) 12-hour day and night shifts (0600-1800, 1800-0600, with rare variable shifts) Rotating weekends approximately every 3rd weekend Holiday coverage required, including 2/3 winter holidays and every other holiday otherwise No floating or call/standby requirements Equipment includes PB980, PB840, Servo-U, LTV1200, and Hamilton ventilators; V60 and Home ResMed BiPAP/CPAP; and Optiflow high-flow devices Requirements Active RRT certification via NBRC required (CRT not accepted) BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required Minimum 1 year of experience required License required if applicable Skilled in ventilator management (intubation, weaning, extubation), BiPAP/CPAP, ABGs, EKGs, and basic respiratory treatments Experience assisting with intubation and inserting king airways in emergency situations Previous travel experience preferred Additional Information Perform basic respiratory therapies, ABGs, EKGs, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ventilator care Assist with intubation and emergency airway management as needed Collaborate closely with team members, including jumping in to assist other therapists as needed Facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage and in-house intensivist support during the day, with eICU support overnight Department-specific orientation includes shadowing with lead RT, department overview, and orientation on assigned shift Dress code requires dark green scrubs Candidates must clock in and out at the facility Former Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced pay rate First-time travelers may be considered given preference for prior travel experience
