A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Health Advocates Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to work at a Facility in Charleston, WV. This order is available for both local and travel.
Pay Rate:
$52 / hour
Pay/Travel Package:
Total Travel Comp = $1,246.00 (Lodging - $770.00, M&I - $476.00) $24.40 p/h X 40Hrs = $976.00 Total Comps = $2,222.00
Job Responsibilities:
Assess patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary problems Administer oxygen therapy and breathing treatments Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory equipment Perform breathing tests (pulmonary function tests) Suction airways and manage artificial airways Respond to emergency situations (code blue, CPR support) Educate patients on inhalers and breathing exercises Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as ordered Document care and update medical records Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff
Minimum Qualifications:
At least one year (12 months) of experience as a Respiratory Therapist Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Current West Virginia State license for Respiratory Therapy. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
