Job Overview The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. This role works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that improves functional outcomes and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and evidence-based practices Provide direct therapy services and interventions in accordance with established plans of care Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and home programs Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation (evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, discharge summaries) Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary Ensure compliance with all regulatory, payer, and accreditation requirements Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives Common Treatment Areas Articulation and phonological disorders Expressive and receptive language disorders Cognitive-communication deficits (e.g., memory, attention, problem-solving) Voice and resonance disorders Fluency disorders (e.g., stuttering) Dysphagia (swallowing disorders) Qualifications Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Current state licensure (or eligibility) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred (or Clinical Fellowship candidate considered) Skills & Competencies Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build rapport with patients and families Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Work Environment Outpatient clinic / rehabilitation setting May involve standing, walking, and assisting patients with mobility or positioning Flexible schedule depending on patient volume and clinic needs
