Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
An integral member of the rehab team who all believe in our mission and strive to for our patients to reach their best possible potential and functional outcomes. Provides high quality compassionate Speech Pathology services while using the most up-to-date evidence-based practices. This rehab team member must be willing and eager to learn new concepts and therapy techniques, possess great communication and interpersonal skills and be highly motivated. The Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist job duties include but are not limited to obtaining patients medical history, evaluation and treatment in consultations with the referring physician, completing all appropriate documentation in the patient's medical record, instructing patients and family/caregivers in appropriate patient care, assisting in training / mentoring new hires, students and support personnel and performing other duties assigned by the Manager of Inpatient Rehabilitation, and the Manager of SNF / Long Term Rehabilitation. The ideal team player in this position exhibits excellent leadership skills, decision making and organizational abilities in addition to possessing excellent communication and teaching skills
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education MS Communication Disorders or other ST related accredited curriculum Minimum Experience New Graduate Required Registration/License/Certification SLP-CFY or SLP-CCC by ASHA and Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Pathology-Audiology BLS within 90 days of hire Preferred Education CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) Preferred Experience Modified Barium Swallow 1 year of practical experience direct patient care Prefer inpatient and skilled nursing setting Preferred Registration/License/Certification CCC Other Requirements N/A
