Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a vibrant educational setting. This itinerant position will allow you to make a meaningful impact across three schools and a diverse caseload while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families. You'll provide essential speech and language services, fostering student growth and communication skills.

Key Qualifications:

Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Valid

ASHA SLP

License Professional Educator Alabama SLP Certificate (verification link available) Experience in a school-based SLP role, with familiarity supporting students in Special Education settings Strong organization and communication skills, able to balance on-site responsibilities across multiple locations Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve an approximate caseload of 60 students as an itinerant SLP between three campuses: Shelby County High, Columbiana Middle, and Helena Intermediate Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech and language disorders Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and track progress Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student success Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, and communication Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed This is an on-site contract position scheduled for 37.5 hours weekly, running from early August through mid-December.
