A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

We are looking for a committed and patient-focused Speech Therapist to join our team. CME provides pediatric therapy to the surrounding area with flexible schedules and competitive pay. We offer supervisor pay. Caseload includes afterschool clients from Monday-Thursday. Responsibilities Address client's aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality Select and adapt the appropriate per case speech therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions Administer various speech therapy evaluations that is needed based on the severity of the client. Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components Assess client's home and other environments and advice on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use Guide and educate family members and caregivers Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals Collect data and document processes followed Regularly follow-up client Skills Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of speech therapy Experience with computer programs such as digital documentation Familiarity with SLPs evaluation tools Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession Professional behavior Excellent interpersonal communication skills Valid license to practice speech therapy Masters or greater in speech therapy
