Speech-Language Pathologist

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and providing therapy to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders that impact their educational performance. The SLP collaborates with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support students' communication skills so they can successfully access and participate in the educational environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students. Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives for students who qualify for speech-language services. Provide direct and indirect speech and language therapy services to students individually or in small groups. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and IEP progress. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility, IEP, and annual review meetings. Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate communication strategies into classroom instruction. Provide consultation and training to teachers, paraprofessionals, and families regarding communication strategies and supports. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education and related services. Utilize evidence-based practices and appropriate instructional materials to support student communication development. Assist with the development of intervention strategies and accommodations for students with communication needs. Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with district policies and legal requirements. Attend professional development trainings as outlined or required by the Special Education Director or building principal. Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Director or supervisor.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Valid state licensure and/or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Eligibility for or possession of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred. Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
