A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Step into an engaging contract opportunity providing Speech-Language Pathology services across three dynamic high school campuses. This full-time, full school year (FSY), itinerant position invites you to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting approximately 60-70 students presenting with a wide variety of needs—from mild articulation challenges to students with autism spectrum disorder and those enrolled in adaptive cluster programs. Most of your caseload will be at Mountain View High School (approximately 50 students), with additional responsibilities at Vista and MCAT (about 10 students combined). The role welcomes clinical fellows eager to grow their expertise, as well as experienced SLPAs under the guidance of a supervising SLP-CCC.

Key Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Current, active standard SLP certification Valid IVP fingerprint card Experience supporting students within school settings preferred Familiarity with a diverse range of disabilities (articulation disorders, ASD, adaptive programs) is a plus Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct speech and language services to a varied caseload Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to foster student success Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines Supervise and mentor SLPAs (for CCC-SLP candidates) Travel between assigned schools as needed This contract offers a rewarding chance to impact students' lives while working alongside passionate educational professionals.
