Job Details Since 2013, the Autism Academy for Education and Development (AAED) has opened six campuses in the Metro Phoenix and Tucson areas including our online campus. We are looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of passionate individuals. At AAED, a Speech Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) works with students to oversee therapy sessions, develop and communicate intervention plans, and collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure that students are successful in the classroom. Responsibilities Supervise, train, and positively motivate SLPAs. Provide regular one-to-one feedback, goal setting, and yearly reviews for assigned SLPAs. Ensure administrative and managerial duties are executed in a timely consistent manner. Direct and supervise SLPA(s) as assigned. Assist the SLPA(s) and classroom teachers in devising strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities. Communicate with SLPA(s) and classroom teachers, ensuring they have updated IEP information for each of their students who receive speech therapy and alert the team of any problem or special information about an individual student that relates to speech therapy. Complete IEP Paperwork in relation to speech therapy- including but not limited to the present levels, service minutes, goals, objectives, methods, materials, frequency, duration and modifications. Communicate with parents/guardians, either by phone call or via email, regarding the information pertaining to speech therapy that has been completed in the IEP at least 3-business days before the meeting. Recommend instructional / therapeutic materials and supplies for therapy use. Review quarterly progress reports completed by SLPAs. Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of information pertaining to students within the school environment and community. Maintain professional conduct and appearance. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, families, businesses, and the public at large using exemplary written, verbal, and listening skills. Demonstrate conflict management skills by actively listening, finding solutions to problems, and working well with difficult people. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications & Requirements Master's or equivalent from an accredited institution in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders Valid ASHA certificate of clinical competence in speech pathology Arizona Department of Education Speech Language Certification Speech Language Pathology Assistant License issued from Arizona Department of Health Services Valid Level 1 IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook) 1-2 years' experience supervising SLPAs (preferred) Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices (preferred) Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Enthusiasm and positive attitude towards all people; solid team player who is open to new ideas Benefits Medical Dental Vision 401k matching after 1 year AAED is an equal opportunity employer.
