JOB DESCRIPTION

Linden Oaks formerly Speech and Language Development Center is a non-profit school and therapy center serving children and young adults, with a private special education school serving students K-12+. Based on more than 65 years of knowledge, skill and success, Linden Oaks provides remediation for language/learning, emotional/social and neurologically-based needs to students with a broad scope of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. The SLP provides individual, group and/or consult therapy services for all assigned clients. Plans sessions and related materials for each session, conducts assessments, collects and records data, and supports Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goal development for all assigned clients

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Fulfill daily contracted therapy hours, utilizing best practices and research based methodologies to maximize student progress Provides a full continuum of speech-language therapy services to children who are in need of such services, including articulation and language therapy. Effectively evaluates pupils for communicative disorders according to appropriate criteria as determined by state and federal guidelines. Employs assessment procedures, techniques and standard tests necessary for thorough and accurate diagnosis and conveys pertinent information to appropriate personnel. Collect and record data and supporting IEP goal development for all clients on caseload. Write and present IEP reports at IEP meeting and all other student related meetings. Input daily attendance and take daily session notes for each session conducted Prepare quarterly progress reports and create and maintain each client's therapy chart/record. Provides training, supervision and performance management for therapy assistants, teachers, paraprofessionals and interns, within both therapeutic and educational settings. Maintain fiscal stewardship of all department funds, equipment and materials. Provides consultation services to parents and teachers on appropriate speech and language activities, including training parents and teachers to use appropriate speech-language activities. Utilizes results of current resources to improve program. Participates in conferences and meetings. Assumes responsibility for implementation of state and federal regulations as related to speech and language services. Acquaints administrators and other school personnel with speech, language and hearing problems, and resources in the community. Prepares required District, Funder/Insurance Carrier, and state reports. Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

Degree in Speech Therapy (Master's preferred). 1 year or more experience in Speech Therapy or related setting. Ability to process and use related data/reports. Valid SLP License and/or credential and certification. Valid Driver License. Proficient use of technology (including software and hardware). Fluency with commonly used IEP software programs.

Physical Demands:

Standing 10%, sitting 40%, walking 15%, lifting 5%, computer use 20%, bending 5%, stooping 5%, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:
