Job Description

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) -
PRN Facility:
Medical Hill Healthcare Center Starting Wage:
$60.00 - $65.00 per hour Job Summary The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating and treating residents to improve communication, cognitive, and swallowing functions. You will collaborate closely with families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary health team to ensure high-quality care and maintain detailed medical documentation. Additionally, you will play a key role in staff development through ongoing in-services and training.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Assessment:
Evaluate residents to determine therapy needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential based on physician orders and facility protocols.
Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement individualized plans focused on improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
Collaboration & Communication:
Regularly consult with the nursing department, physicians, and families regarding resident progress, goals, and discharge planning.
Staff Mentorship:
Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFY) or students and assist in training Restorative Aides.
Documentation:
Complete accurate and timely documentation compliant with facility, governmental, and third-party payer requirements.
Education:
Instruct residents and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and safety/aspiration prevention strategies.
Safety & Quality:
Maintain a safe environment via strict infection control and equipment protocols; contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
