JOB DESCRIPTION
Conducts speech and language therapy assessments, diagnoses, and case manages programs for students with communication needs in the school-based setting. Collaborates regularly with classroom co-teachers and service providers to ensure service delivery, progress monitoring, and to develop goals for students to ensure full participation and learning in inclusive classroom setting. Essential Functions 1. Prescribes and implements speech and language therapy designed to meet the individual communication needs of eligible students, in accordance with school policies and procedures, and IEP goals. 2. Conducts formal and informal assessments of students to determine eligibility for speech and language therapy using school-approved assessment instruments. 3. Develops, implements, and uses authorized multimodal communication techniques, materials, and resources. 4. Manages the use of Assistive Technology (AT) devices, including installation, distribution, and resolving technical issues. 5. Collaborates with school medical staff to coordinate medical care protocols and acts as a resource to school staff in interpreting speech and language therapy. 6. Essential Elements:
Print TLC Public Charter School is a full inclusion model school that offers all students access to the general education setting. We are looking for a Speech/Language Pathologist to join our team of teachers, paraprofessional staff, and specialists. Ideal candidates are collaborative, creative, and interested in supporting students in the natural context of classrooms with peers. Knowledge of AT and AAC and/or Spanish-speaking preferred.
