Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities:
Assess dysphagia, trial food and liquid consistencies, recommend safe diet modification, and lead oral-motor strengthening exercises Treat aphasia, articulation issues, voice disorders, and verbal expression deficits Educate family members and aides on safe swallowing protocols, cueing techniques, and communication strategies Communicate regularly with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and dietitians
Speech-Language Pathologist Qualifications:
