Seeking an experienced, patient, and hands-on private licensed speech language pathologist-educator for a creative after school program for a pair of elementary aged children! Weekends would also work alternatively. Both children have significant speech delays and are on the autism spectrum, so experience with Autism is a must. They will thrive with an SLP who can provide extra support, patience, and one-on-one attention, repetition, and a tailored goals that meet them at their level for their speech and language development. This position is ideal for a candidate who is fun loving, energetic, talkative, well-rounded and excited to jump into a role where they can tailor their skills to a child's education and growth in a one-on-one capacity. An SLP who is team-oriented, well rounded team player and adaptable will thrive in this role. One who can adapt along with the children's interests and their development and is able to work in a classroom setting not only traditional clinical therapy setting. The children will thrive when working with an SLP who is patient and accommodating and can intuit their needs as their skills develop. Childhood apraxia of speech experience, Gestault language processor, strong AAC device experience, Autism experience will be a big plus, as will be past experience working in a school. Qualifications Master's/Doctorate degree in Speech Language Pathology An active license approved by the State Board of Speech Language Pathology Must hold active license or be eligible for state license by the Board of Speech Language Pathology 1 year working with children in a traditional classroom/school environment (preschool and Kindergarten) or experience teaching children of this age range or similar in a home-school, or tutoring environment. Valid driver's license Experience/Knowledge with Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism required. Maintain awareness of issues related to the profession of speech-language pathology therapy environment. A satisfactory criminal background check, FL child protection registry and TB test are required for all new employees.
