Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team on a part-time and PRN basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in speech and language therapy, with experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in dynamic clinical settings, utilizing telehealth options when appropriate. The successful applicant will be committed to improving communication abilities and swallowing functions through evidence-based interventions and collaborative teamwork. The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients as medically prescribed, in a professional manner and within hospital standards, adhering to the corporate compliance plan and all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. Openings for Acute Care Rehab at AdventHealth Daytona Part Time 24 hours PRN Per Diem as needed, including weekends/holidays Requirements Masters in Speech/Language Pathology Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) [Required] OR Speech-Language Pathologist - Provisional (SLP-PROV) [Required] OR Speech-Language Pathologist - Temporary (SLP-TEMP) [Required] Duties Oversees the care provided by therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards. Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required. Practices principles of professional development and performance improvements by maintaining clinical knowledge, using best and or evidence-based practices, and serving as a Clinical instructor. Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours and assisting in other centers/programs as needed. Practices principles of employee and patient safety in daily job activities. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community. Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards. Establishes, implements, and adapts individualized treatment plans, including goal setting, treatment activities, and frequency. Discharges patients when maximum benefit is achieved or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines. Skills Proven experience working with pediatric populations, including early intervention programs and school-based settings. Strong background in speech therapy techniques for both children and adult patients with speech impairments or swallowing difficulties. Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop targeted therapy plans for diverse communication disorders. Excellent parent or caregiver collaboration skills to foster supportive environments for patient progress. Familiarity with telehealth therapy platforms and experience delivering remote services effectively. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology related to speech and swallowing functions, and medical terminology relevant to acute care settings. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in acute or hospital environments; familiarity with patient care workflows is preferred.
