In this vital role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders. You will deliver evidence-based therapy plans that foster meaningful progress and enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for adult geriatric patients. Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals. Provide engaging therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve articulation, language comprehension, fluency, voice, and cognitive-communication skills. Collaborate closely with families, caregivers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive treatment approaches and effective progress tracking. Document patient progress accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR), maintaining compliance with medical terminology standards. Educate parents and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home and other settings. Qualifications Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required; state licensure or eligibility preferred. Demonstrated experience working with the adult populations is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physiology related to speech production and swallowing functions. Proven ability to perform comprehensive speech and language assessments for individuals with speech impairments or disabilities. Experience implementing speech therapy techniques in skilled nursing facilities. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and patient care documentation processes. Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams including therapists, physicians, and families.
