Job Description

PowerBack Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate Speech Therapist to provide individualized evaluation and treatment for adults recovering from surgery, injury, or illness. In this role, you will assess speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders; develop evidence-based treatment plans; and document progress in accordance with healthcare regulations. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary rehab team and families to maximize patient independence and quality of life. Responsibilities Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Conduct regular therapy sessions and modify plans based on patient progress Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and billing records Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PT/OT, and case managers on care plans Educate patients and families on home exercises and communication strategies Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility rehabilitation regulations Use therapy technologies and tools to support intensive rehabilitation Contribute to a positive, team-centric culture focused on patient recovery Required Skills Speech and language evaluation Swallowing (dysphagia) assessment and treatment Cognitive-communication rehabilitation Treatment planning and goal setting Clinical documentation in EMR systems Knowledge of rehab and SNF regulations (e.g., Medicare) Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) basics Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Use of standardized assessment tools (e.g., MBS, bedside swallow)
