Job Description

A Day in the Life of a Speech Language Pathologist with
WesleyLife At Home:
Assess speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing abilities in the home environment Identify functional strengths and challenges that impact daily living Develop tailored treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient‑centered goals Provide individualized, targeted therapy to improve communication, cognitive function, and swallowing safety Integrate therapy strategies into clients' natural routines and environments Address communication, cognition, and dysphagia needs with a whole‑person approach Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing at home Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including nurses, PTs, OTs, and care coordinator Identify functional strengths and challenges that impact daily living Develop tailored treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient‑centered goals Provide individualized, targeted therapy to improve communication, cognitive function, and swallowing safety Integrate therapy strategies into clients' natural routines and environments Address communication, cognition, and dysphagia needs with a whole‑person approach Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing at home Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including nurses, PTs, OTs, and care coordinator
Qualifications:
Valid Iowa driver's license Current vehicle insurance Currently licensed as a Speech Therapist in the state of Iowa Graduate of an accredited speech-language pathology master's program Previous home health or direct patient care experience preferred
