This is an exempt, 10-month position with salary placement in accordance with the District's Support Services formula of the certified salary schedule. The position includes, one (1) sick day per month, and four (4) personal leave days annually. The District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; participation in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI).
Retention Bonus:
$10,000 yearly retention bonus offered to qualified applicant.

JOB SUMMARY
The Speech Language Pathologist remediates speech, and/or language disorders that interfere with individual student's ability to derive full benefits from the district's educational program. To maintain a case load size that does not exceed ASHA guidelines .
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree from accredited university. Appropriate Idaho Certificate as provided by the Idaho State Dept. of Education. Alternatives to the above qualifications as may be recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board. Pupil Personnel Certificate endorsed as a Speech and Hearing Therapist (Clinician) or Audiologist.
Proposed:
Initial Communication Disorders Specialist endorsement Professional Communication Disorders Specialist endorsement.
Desired:
Two years experience as a speech/language pathologist. Graduate work beyond master's degree.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
(may vary by assignment ) Provide therapy for extended school year. Prepare building schedules based upon student caseloads. Complete student files. Administer audiometric screening programs and makes appropriate referrals. Administers speech and language screening programs. Evaluate referrals from the speech and language screening (conforming to Idaho State Guidelines for due process). Plan and implement individual speech/language programs. Conduct hearing conservation program. Maintain working relationships with all public school personnel. Provide own transportation for itinerant schedule. Know and follow school district policy and chain of command. Perform such other tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Services.
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified personnel.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Persons performing service in this position classification will regularly exert 10 to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work involves sitting most of the time, but will involve walking or standing for extended periods of time. Occasionally, physical requirements include the ability to navigate multi-story buildings during an emergency situation. Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
