What they do
A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Until Filled We are excited about your interest in our district! District 87 is home to one high school, one junior high, six elementary schools, and one early childhood school. We also have the Bloomington Career Academy which provides career exploration opportunities to high school students at Bloomington High School and surrounding school districts. Please review the union agreement and job description in the bottom right-hand corner. Candidates must be fluent in speaking, writing, and listening in both Spanish and English. The minimum starting compensation for a full-time position will be $43,496 in accordance with Appendix A of the Board-BEA agreement and may be commensurate with prior applicable experience and education as outlined in Section 15 of the Board-BEA agreement. Employment beginning after the normal employment start date will be prorated based on the number of days worked.
