A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into an engaging school-based position focused on supporting students' communication needs in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This contract opportunity spans from February 1, 2027, through May 24, 2027, and covers FMLA leave across a range of settings—including a specialized day school, high school, and preschool walk-in visits. You'll work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, within a community located near Sterling and Dixon, IL.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Master's degree or candidacy in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP or CFY) Eligibility for applicable state licensure and certification Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience or comfort working with diverse student populations across multiple grade levels Desire to grow professionally within a supportive, team-centered atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and provide speech-language services for students in preschool, specialized, and high school settings Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers Document assessments, goals, and progress notes in a timely and thorough manner Engage in monthly meetings and roundtables for ongoing collaboration with colleagues Contribute to process improvement and promote evidence-based best practices
