9673601-70056 Job Description Embrace an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of middle school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) on a contract basis near Gretna, LA. This role offers the chance to deliver specialized speech and language services to learners in grades 5th through 8th, with a consistent schedule of 25-30 hours per week. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing communication skills and supporting academic and social success.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution Possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Active state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably with middle school-aged students Strong assessment, intervention, and case management skills Excellent communication abilities for collaborating with staff, families, and students Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and writing comprehensive reports
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate students for speech, language, and communication disorders using standardized assessments Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs Provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy services Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to foster student progress Track student goals and progress, and update documentation as required by district policies Engage with families to provide updates, resources, and strategies to reinforce progress at home Enjoy the flexibility of a part-time contract in an engaging educational environment, where your skills and insights will be truly valued.
