Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Step into the upcoming school year as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) supporting students communication development in a dynamic educational environment near Metairie and the New Orleans area. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work collaboratively with dedicated teams across multiple campuses in the region, playing a key role in student growth and academic success.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders Active or eligible state licensure in Speech Language Pathology ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) highly preferred Experience or interest in K-12 school settings strongly valued Must successfully complete required district credentialing, including drug screening and fingerprinting

Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive speech-language services to a diverse student population across one or more assigned schools (specific caseload and age group will be determined) Evaluate students speech, language, and communication skills, creating individualized plans that foster measurable progress Collaborate with teachers, families, and other educational professionals to integrate therapy into the school routine and contribute to multidisciplinary teams Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with school and district policies Participate in IEP meetings to advocate for student needs and support their educational journeys This role provides full-time, steady hours (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday following the school calendar, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day). All offers and placements are contingent upon the school board contract renewal, finalized in early June 2026. Internal prescreening will ensure candidates meet the districts high standards.
