A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students on their communication journeys. This onsite role near New Orleans runs full-time through late November and offers the chance to provide impactful speech-language services in a vibrant school setting. You'll work with a diverse caseload of 50-60 students at Schaumberg Elementary, collaborating with educators and families to help each child reach their full potential. Your skills in speech-language pathology will make a meaningful difference, whether you're fully credentialed or bringing fresh energy as a clinical fellow (CF) or SLPA. The district values both experience and new talent—if you're passionate about supporting students through effective intervention and advocacy, this is a space where your expertise matters.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Current or pending ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), Clinical Fellowship (CF), or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) considered Experience or strong interest in school-based services, especially K-5 populations Exceptional communication, organizational, and collaboration skills Ability to independently manage a caseload and deliver therapy sessions onsite

Provide direct speech-language therapy and assessments for elementary-age students Develop and implement individualized IEP goals with measurable outcomes Maintain thorough, timely documentation of progress and participation Consult regularly with teachers, staff, and families to support student success Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
