A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make an impact as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting middle school students in grades 5-7 on a contract basis. This engaging role offers flexibility, with full-time hours available but consideration for part-time applicants who can commit at least 20 hours per week. You'll work closely with diverse learners, contributing to their communication growth during a pivotal stage of their development.

What you bring:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Valid SLP license for the state (CFY, CCC welcome to apply) Experience or strong interest working with middle school-aged students (grades 5-7) Confidence in evaluating and managing a dynamic caseload Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills Familiarity with school-based therapy practices and IEP processes Professionalism and adaptability in fast-paced educational settings Role responsibilities: Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs among 5th-7th grade students Develop and implement effective treatment plans in alignment with each student's IEP goals Conduct both group and individual therapy sessions, adjusting plans as needs evolve Consult and confer with teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress Serve as an advocate for students' communication needs within the school community Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and school initiatives This is an exciting opportunity to work with a welcoming school near Amherst, MA.
