A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Reporting to their direct Supervisor, the Level 2 Clinician will provide exemplary clinical care (evaluations, treatments, documentation, and professional communication), as well as assist Supervisors with staff development, management support and liaison, administrative tasks, and clinical supervision/mentoring of staff and students. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology program required. Experience Greater than three years' previous experience as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist. Working at Emerson Hospital for greater than 2 years. Demonstrated leadership experience preferred. Licensure and/or Certification BLS required within 4 months from hire. Current license to practice physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech pathology in Massachusetts required. Skills Clinical expertise for the age and type of patients seen. Problem-solving skills. Must execute sound judgment all duties. Courteous and professional manner when dealing with people in person and on the phone. Ability to prioritize workload and respond to urgent needs. Committed to Service Excellence and customer satisfaction. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Computer skills required. Ability to maintain confidential information. Strong leadership, training, and mentorship abilities required.
