In this vital role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals across diverse age groups, with a special focus on neurodivergent pediatric patients. Duties Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders and swallowing difficulties in home and community settings. Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs, focusing on improving speech, language, voice, fluency, and feeding skills. Implement evidence-based therapy techniques for pediatric populations, including early intervention strategies to support developmental milestones. Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care plans and effective communication strategies. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to maximize outcomes. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate patients and their families on exercises and strategies to support ongoing improvement outside of therapy sessions. Trial, assess, and prescribe appropriate augmentative and alternative communication devices to clients while working with insurance to fund them. Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid licensure or certification as a Speech Therapist or Speech-Language Pathologist in the relevant jurisdiction. Prior experience working with children in educational or clinical settings is highly desirable. Prior experience with the neurodivergent population. Proven experience in patient assessment, diagnosis, and implementing effective therapy interventions. Passion for working with pediatric populations and supporting early intervention initiatives. Prior experience with AAC and insurance funding is preferred but mentoring/support is available. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
