9415114-04005 Job Description Make an impact working with elementary-aged students while supporting their communication needs in a school-based setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who values flexibility and is comfortable working with assistive and augmentative communication (AAC) devices, as well as providing compensatory services.
Key Qualifications:
Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license SLP certification for the state of Maine (SLP-CCC preferred) Experience in a pediatric or school-based environment, particularly with elementary students Familiarity with AAC devices and delivering compensatory services is highly desirable
Responsibilities:
Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in elementary-aged students Provide individualized and group therapy sessions, focusing on use of AAC devices and compensatory strategies as needed Maintain accurate records for each student on caseload, collaborating with educators, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure progress Develop and implement IEP goals, deliver services in accordance with each students unique needs, and participate in IEP meetings when applicable Serve as a resource for school staff and families regarding speech and language support This position provides a flexible schedule of 4-10 hours per week, working 1-2 days, from now through the end of the school year. The caseload includes elementary-aged students, primarily focusing on AAC and compensatory services.
