Job DescriptionLocation:

Henry Ford Physical Rehabilitation -

Auburn HillsSchedule:

20 hours/week, Preferably Monday & Thursday 8am-6:30pm. This is an Outpatient position but does help with Saturday on call for the hospital approximately once every 5 weeks for 6 hours. Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy.

Responsibilities:

Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.

Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans.

Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.

Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services.

Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program;Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination;Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.

One year of experience in a clinical setting required.

Preferred experience in Vital Stim, cognitive communication disorders, dysphagia, CVA. 

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

 The State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA.
