Job Description
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), in person, school based, full or part time RCM is looking for full or part time school based SLPs to provide therapy services to school students in and around the Oak Park, MI area for this school year, with a strong possibility of returning for the 2026/2027 school year. W2 contract, IN PERSON at the school locations only. Qualifications State of Michigan certification as a teacher of the speech and language impaired preferred. SB endorsement and/or Clinical Competence Certificate required An earned master's degree in speech and language pathology. A minimum of sixty (60) semester hours of academic credit in normal aspects of human communication, development, and clinical techniques for evaluation and management of speech and language disorders as described in State rule
R340.1796. A
minimum of 300 clock hours of supervised practicum experience with persons who present a variety of communication disorders. Early Childhood or Elementary education certification preferred. Demonstrated skills in assessment and treatment of articulation, language, voice, and fluency impairment. Willingness to learn in district-specific strategies related to language acquisition skills.Responsibilities:
Assist early elementary general education teachers in facilitating language acquisition skills and sound awareness skills. Support strategies will include the use of modeling, lessons, and team teaching. Act as a liaison between school and home to foster parent involvement. Participate as a member on intervention team meetings to assist general education teachers with strategies to support children who are at risk in the area of language acquisition. Conducts speech/language evaluations and determines eligibility in accordance with the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE). Manage caseload assignment; develop and implement IEPs. Maintains and submits records and reports in a timely fashion. Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. Exhibit positive interpersonal skills and is able to work collaboratively. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
