A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.
Job Summary Capernaum Pediatric Therapy seeks a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (32-40 hours/week) beginning mid-August 2026 to serve children in a school in Albertville, MN (with paid commute) and at community sites in the St. Paul, MN area. This could be one full-time position or split into two part-time positions. Mentorship is provided. Competitive pay and full-time benefits are offered. Qualifications:
Master's degree in speech-language pathology Licensed by the MN Department of Health Preferred experience serving children in a variety of settings; feeding experience preferred Able to reliably commute between buildings/locations as needed A passion for working with children and families
Responsibilities:
Support diverse children through initial evaluations and diagnosis, and treat children with varying degrees of speech impairments Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify and provide treatment recommendations Be knowledgeable of and adhere to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws Be knowledgeable of feeding techniques and/or be willing to advance training in this area
Skills:
Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues Proficiency in software commonly used for documentation and report preparation Proficient in troubleshooting common software and hardware challenges relating to the regular use of speech pathology tools Commitment to supporting and empowering students with diverse backgrounds, including an understanding of at-risk children, gifted children, and children with disabilities Possess effective decision-making, managerial, communication, and organizational skills Accountability and attention to detail are essential when handling and documenting important medical information
