  • Speech Language Pathologist (CF
  • SLP) is responsible for the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of an individual's speech, language, and communication-interaction skills. The CF
  • SLP will demonstrate professional competency in evaluation and treatment using special instruments, qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, such as; standardized tests to analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of language and communication impairments. The CF
  • SLP will demonstrate competency in accurate reporting of evaluation findings, progress/status, and discharge documentation. The CF
  • SLP will demonstrate competency in managing ethical payers relationships to justify the cost of treatment when applying for reimbursement. The CF
  • SLP is responsible for ethical counsel to individuals and their families concerning language and communication disorders; how to cope, critical review of literature and treatment methodologies, and treatment strategies and home program suggestions. The CF
  • SLP is responsible for communication and coordination with others including patient, staff, team, family, school, medical personnel and others to assure good quality of care. The CF
  • SLP is responsible for accurate and relevant knowledge of the speech pathology discipline and its practice and contraindications for patient care. The CF
  • SLP is responsible to serve as a voice and representative of the discipline within the organization by participating in program development and other duties in order to maintain an effective speech pathology department.
Essential Functions CF-SLP will adhere to all supervision requirements set forth by ASHA Provide screenings, evaluations and direct therapy to clients in a 1:1 medical model ensuring goals and objectives are being met CF-SLP will manage physician orders and patient medical and educational records to assist in determining evaluation and treatment plan. CF-SLP will evaluate patients to identify abilities and areas of opportunity and conduct individual/group treatment. CF-SLP will determine treatment plan, long-term goals, short-term goals, type, frequency, and duration of treatment, and functional potential. CF-SLP will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Guide treatment team on how to properly implement and carryover SLP goals in the
PODS CF-SLP
will identify the rationale for treatment, recognize contraindications, and accept responsibility for potentially dangerous situations. (oral motor) CF-SLP will continually manage patient's treatment status and make referrals as appropriate. CF-SLP will manage the treatment approach and methodology according to the patient's mental and emotional status. CF-SLP will maintain and complete accurate documentation of the patient's treatment status on a timely basis in accordance with organizational policy and regulating agencies. CF-SLP will complete ethical and accurate billing practices on a timely basis according to organizational requirements. Communicates and work with all members of the treatment team and shares information with team members in formal and informal settings, i.e. Rehab rounds Demonstrate dependability and consistency in therapy and other job-related activities Redirect, intervene, observe, and monitor client behaviors Work with minimal supervision to provide direct therapy using skills, techniques and expectations detailed in CF

e., physicians, team members, parents, insurance, school, etc. to assure effective treatment planning for the patient.
Including and not limited to:
telephone calls, clarification of treatment orders, treatment status, and education on treatment rationale. CF-SLP will communicate effectively in written and oral forms and adjust appropriately to audiences including; physicians, payers, people with communication impairments, and school personnel. CF-SLP will demonstrate computer competence that supports SLP documentation requirements, therapeutic programs, and training documentation. Attend and participate in meetings CF-SLP will provide staff and parent training on topics deemed appropriate by the organization and scope of practice guidelines. CF-SLP will demonstrate knowledge of the changing trends in speech pathology and healthcare and communicate relevant issues to staff and others as appropriate. CF-SLP will seek to exceed customer service expectations through quality, productivity, and effectiveness of care. CF-SLP will fulfill department and organizational service delivery goals. CF-SLP will comply with all relevant safety, infection control, privacy regulations etc. Assist in keeping the facility safe, organized, sanitary, and guide others to do the same Organize and clean therapy space and equipment Make sound decisions and use good judgment when dealing with clients, parents, and coworker CF-SLP will be responsible for meeting department productivity expectations established by the organization CF-SLP will utilize evidence-based practice guidelines when appropriate and will implement clinical research into clinical practice. CF-SLP will pursue professional growth and contribute to the growth of others. Promotes an awareness of the CF-SLP role to parents and Partners staff Meet physical demands as listed below Qualifications Required Education and Experience Must be at least 18 years of age Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited curriculum. National Praxis Examination (qualifying score) Minnesota/ Wisconsin Department of Health state temporary license to practice using the title speech language pathologist Maintain a supervisor on record with the Minnesota/ Wisconsin Department of Health Successfully passed an initial and subsequent background checks (no history of felonies, substantiated client maltreatment or vulnerable adult incidents, or disqualifying misdemeanors) Preferred Qualifications Previous behavioral therapy experience Knowledge of teaching procedures associated with Verbal Behavior Therapy Previous therapy experience working with children with autism
