1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with acute care experience and bedside swallow evaluation skills for a 13-week travel contract at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital in Saint Cloud, MN. Details Acute care hospital setting at a 479-bed Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching facility SLP Acute Care Hospital unit Treats adult patients with conditions including CVA, TBI, dysphagia, dysarthria, degenerative diseases, nervous system disorders, and tracheostomy Performs bedside swallow evaluations and treatments, diet order modifications, and thickening agent management Video fluoroscopy swallow studies experience is preferred but not required Charting via Epic (experience preferred) Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00am-4:30pm Every 5th weekend required (both Saturday and Sunday) Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility Free parking available in the North Lot in any unrestricted space Requirements Minimum 1 year of acute care SLP experience required Active Minnesota state SLP license required; license must be in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required CCC-SLP certification required Bedside swallow evaluation and treatment experience required Video fluoroscopy swallow evaluation experience preferred First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible Former permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler All travelers must complete required lab work within 48 hours of contract signing All travelers must complete Minnesota Livescan fingerprinting in person in Minnesota within 48 hours of contract signing; this is a state requirement with no exceptions and travelers are responsible for all associated travel expenses Additional Information Conducts assessments, evaluations, and develops individualized plans of care for adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders Performs oral peripheral exams and interprets modified barium swallow studies (preferred) Provides patient and family education on therapy goals and home programs Utilizes augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and communication boards (preferred) Manages patients with tracheostomy and ventilator dependence (preferred) Handles billing documentation, discharge planning, and care coordination Travelers requesting a medical or religious vaccine exemption must submit appropriate exemption documentation No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per assignment All RTO requests must be disclosed and approved at the time of submission 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
