May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Qualifications:

Hold a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required, or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) Possess current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist Prior experience with school-aged children or pediatrics is strongly desired Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills essential

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate, diagnose, and provide direct therapy to students with a variety of speech and language disorders Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in consultation with multidisciplinary teams Collect data, monitor progress, and document all therapy sessions in compliance with school and district policies Collaborate regularly with educators, families, and related service staff for holistic student support Contribute to school-wide initiatives regarding communication strategies and inclusive practices Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and parent conferences as needed
