Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - K-5 Job Summary Salem School District is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our K-5 elementary team. This position is responsible for identifying, assessing, and treating students with communication disorders, including impairments in language, speech sound production, fluency, and voice.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct Clinical Services:
Provide high-quality individual and small-group therapy to students with diverse needs, ensuring services align with IEP goals and objectives.
Comprehensive Evaluations:
Conduct initial and triennial speech and language evaluations, including standardized testing and informal observations, to determine eligibility and instructional needs.
AAC Implementation:
Support students with complex communication needs through the selection, programming, and implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
Multidisciplinary Consultation:
Collaborate consistently with General Education teachers, Special Education teachers, and Related Services providers to ensure communication strategies are generalized across all school environments.
Intervention Support:
Participate in the MTSS process by providing pre-referral consultation and short-term interventions for students struggling with foundational communication.
Team Collaboration:
Actively engage with the district-wide SLP cohort to standardize practices, share clinical insights, and support peer-led professional development.
Compliance:
Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and Medicaid billing (if applicable). Certification/Licensure:
Must hold (or be eligible for) a valid New Hampshire License in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the
OPLC. NHDOE
Endorsement:
Must hold (or be eligible for) NHDOE Endorsement #0082 (Speech-Language Specialist).
Education:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
