A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description
Practice Setting:
Assisted Living Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides and directs resident/resident rehabilitation care within all generally accepted practice methods, meeting all center, state, federal, and accrediting standards. Evaluates residents to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities, and develops effective and efficient treatment plans. Manages and coordinates the implementation of treatment plans with staff and other disciplines as indicated. Participates in screening residents according to directed schedules and practices. Provides feedback to the designated supervisor on all clinical and rehabilitation issues. Performs necessary clinical documentation to meet center, state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements. Maintains complete, accurate, and timely billing records to meet all regulatory requirements. Educates residents, families, and staff regarding communication and swallowing disorders, compensatory strategies, and therapy techniques. Participates in in-service training programs as requested. May travel to other facilities to provide services on a limited basis. Position Requirements Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current and active Speech-Language Pathologist license within the state of operations. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) required. Prefer experience/knowledge in older adult rehabilitation. Prefer knowledge in governmental and regulatory guidelines in designated healthcare settings. Why CareOne?
