A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

There is an opportunity for this to be full-time (with added duties/responsibilities) or part-time. We are looking for someone to begin ASAP.
Base Salary:
$70,500 - $90,000

Requirements Qualifications:
Master's Degree in SLP/Communication Disorders Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) NJDOE Certificate NJ License to practice speech Understanding of how to use and implement the CELF-5 and TOLD-5 Test of Language Development for student evaluations
Key Responsibilities:
Employ assessment techniques and tools, both standardized and functional, to evaluate students with suspected swallowing, speech, and/or language disabilities. When appropriate, serve as a child study team member when a child is referred for such reasons. Identify treatment options. Provide therapy to students with swallowing, speech, or language disabilities, including but not limited to services identified in a student's individualized educational program (IEP). Consult with teachers, school resource committee members, and parents on strategies for facilitating the generalization of learned speech-language skills to school and outside of school settings. Serve as a case manager for all students referred for a suspected voice, articulation, or fluency disorder, and for some students with a suspected language disorder. Coordinate the development, monitoring, and evaluation of the effectiveness of IEPs relating to speech, and the annual review and reevaluation process. Complete administrative tasks including documenting information and keeping accurate records of initial evaluations, diagnoses, treatment progress, and any treatment plan notes. Travel between two campuses. Benefits Charter schools ARE public schools. Our teachers are part of the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF), same as teachers at traditional public schools, and can transfer their pension credits from a traditional public school to our school and vice versa.
