A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. Graduation from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program NJ Speech Language Pathology License School Certification in

NJ Preferred:

Pediatric affiliation Experience working with medically fragile children

Per Diem Essential Functions:

Available during the regular school hours at assigned site and for required meetings within the parameters of the scheduled work day Is adept in utilizing the educational model of service vs. the medical model of service in regards to the development and maintenance of a student's therapy program Demonstrates good and timely communication skills to receive or convey essential and important information (i.e., reports and evaluations), to pertinent educational staff, CSH School Services staff, parents, student and other necessary entities Will participate in IEP and other school meetings when appropriate. Such meetings could be in

  • person, by phone or by virtual meeting platform Displays good collaborative skills which are crucial in formulating a specialized transdisciplinary plan for a student in their educational program Provides necessary instruction, training, supervision and monitoring of school personnel in the use of a prescribed therapeutic plan, technique, or modality Carries out assessment, reassessment and evaluation procedures for referred students, meeting district and CSH School Services requirements and timelines Plans, develops and implements therapeutic interventions that are goal oriented and educationally relevant Completes all necessary documentation, databases, schedules and billing logs in accordance with CSH School Services department policy and assigned district/school's policy Maintains and is accountable for therapy inventory and equipment Completes all assigned mandatory education requirements within stated timeframes May, in conjunction with Fieldwork Coordinator, supervise clinical fieldwork students according to stated student program objectives Supports efforts to accomplish the goals of Children's Specialized Hospital's School Services, representative of our organization•not as an independent contractor•adhering to the noncompete policies of the organization
