Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step confidently into a fulfilling contract opportunity for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in the Newark, NJ area for the Fall 2026 semester. Three full-time school-based SLPs are sought for a 12-week maternity leave coverage, starting in September. With 35+ hours per week onsite, these roles offer the chance to make a meaningful impact working with students across K-5th grades, including those with high autism and preschool populations. Ideal candidates will be passionate about helping young learners develop communication skills in supportive and collaborative elementary education settings. CFs are welcome (outside supervision required), but Certification of Clinical Competence holders (CCC-SLP) will be prioritized. Please note, SLPAs are not eligible for these positions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active NJ Speech-Language Pathology License and valid NJ Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification required Successful completion of, or eligibility for, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred Previous experience with school-aged children, especially those in high-needs or specialized populations (such as Autism), is a plus Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school teams and families Must be comfortable working onsite in school environmentsPrimary Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech-language therapy services to elementary and preschool students Complete assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and document student progress Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student growth Adapt interventions to meet individual needs while fostering inclusive classroom communication skills Embrace the rewarding challenge of supporting students' development during a pivotal time in their educational journey.
