A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Speech Language Specialist (Part-Time) Catapult Learning - 3.5 Newark, NJ Job Details Part-time $70 - $75 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Employee relationship building Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Speech Language Therapist The Opportunity The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing intervention in the areas of articulation, language, and fluency. They will assess student needs, provide high quality speech and language therapy, and collaborate with both school personnel and families to provide services to students. Designs and implements intervention programs which remediate deficit speech/language skills of identified students. Works with school personnel and parents to design and implement the student's intervention plan, individual service plan, or individual student plan most appropriate to address the student's need. Offers consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents in support of student's speech language goals. Acts as a resource to parents, school personnel and other caregivers in the area of speech/language development. Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine child's speech/language competency, if requested. Interprets diagnostic tests, identifies strengths and weaknesses in areas of speech/language skills and generates reports providing feedback to school personnel and parents. Serves as member of the school's multidisciplinary team, if appropriate. Is knowledgeable concerning all policies and procedures as established for these services by the Company's Program Manual, the funding source, and the individual school(s). Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.

REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree and certification as required by contract.

PREFERRED

Masters Degree, CCSs, or CFY. Experience in a school setting.
