Job Summary Rehab Services of Nevada - Elko is seeking a dedicated and adaptable PRN (pro re nata, or as-needed) or part-time Speech and Language Pathologist to join our dynamic multidisciplanary healthcare team. Rehab Services of Nevada provides both inpatient and out-patient therapy services at the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for improving communication abilities across diverse populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients. This role involves providing comprehensive speech and language therapy services, implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families. Experience with swallow evaluations and treatment is preferred. The position offers flexible scheduling and competitive pay based on experience. Responsibilities Conduct thorough speech and language assessments to identify communication impairments in patients of all ages, including children with early intervention needs and older adults with speech or swallowing difficulties. Develop, implement, and monitor personalized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. Provide direct therapy services through in-person sessions or telehealth platforms, utilizing evidence-based techniques to enhance communication skills. Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive treatment approaches and optimal patient outcomes. Educate families about speech and language disorders, therapy strategies, and home practice activities to support ongoing progress. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and compliance within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology by participating in continuing education opportunities and applying new techniques as appropriate. Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and best practices for patient care across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Qualifications Valid Nevada licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist from the Nevada accredited licensing board. Experience working with pediatric and adult populations. Proven ability to develop comprehensive speech and language evaluations for individuals with various disabilities or speech impairments. Familiarity with telehealth therapy platforms and experience delivering remote services effectively. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to speech production, swallowing mechanisms, and medical terminology relevant to patient assessment and treatment. Demonstrated skill in implementing speech-language therapy plans for diverse patient groups across different settings. Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive patient care. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or complex communication needs is highly desirable.
