9471841-10314 Job Description Step into a dynamic high school environment as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist, supporting students aged 1421 with diverse communication needs. The caseload features students diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other genetic conditions, many of whom are non-verbal and benefit from AAC devices and alternative communicative strategies.
Key Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Valid SLP license or eligibility to practice in New York Experience or strong interest in serving students with moderate to severe disabilities Familiarity with AAC devices and technology-based communication supports Team-oriented mindset, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct speech-language therapy, individually and in small groups, to high school students Evaluate, select, and implement AAC and alternative communication methods tailored to each student Work collaboratively with special education staff, classroom teachers, and related service professionals Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of communication goals and progress monitoring Provide training and support for staff and families in communication strategies and AAC use Document student progress and maintain accurate records as required This full-time opportunity, scheduled from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, aligns with the school year calendar and places you at the heart of a supportive, multidisciplinary team focused on empowering each students voice.
