Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders. You will work primarily with pediatric patients in the NYS Early Intervention Program, preschool speech and language students and/or private treatment clients in a clinic setting. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the communication skills and overall quality of life for your patients. Clinical Fellowship Applicants welcome! Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language abilities in children. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and specific needs. Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills, including articulation, fluency, and language comprehension. Collaborate with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to create a supportive environment for patients. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Provide education and resources to families regarding speech and language development. Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech and language functions. Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly desirable. Proficient understanding of medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices. Expertise in early intervention strategies for children with communication disorders. Ability to conduct thorough patient assessments and develop effective care plans. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
