Job Description

Tiegerman School is a special education program servicing children with autism spectrum disorders from preschool through high school. At Tiegerman, our mission is to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Language is a symbol system; it provides the means to reach out to the world. Tiegerman High School is looking for a part time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Richmond Hill!
Schedule:
3 days per week, 8AM-4
PM Salary Range:
$45,000 - $48,000 (annually) The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for working with students with speech/ communication difficulties, and feeding difficulties. The Speech-Language Pathologist reports directly to the Coordinator of Therapeutic Services. The Speech Language Pathologist is an exempt position. The SLP must be certified by NYSED. Responsibilities Maintain and review student records Evaluate student progress and prepare reports that display their progress Assess the communication skills of the students Plan, organize and conduct speech and language therapy with students. Develop treatment plans Meet with parents and teachers to communicate information pertaining to the students' individualized treatment plan Instruct assigned support staff for the purpose of providing information on feeding plans and prescribed treatment plans Provide students, teachers, and families with written materials and documentation Make recommendations and referrals as needed Research resources and treatment methods for the students Maintain professional training by attending workshops Perform other job duties as assigned •Tiegerman is an AA and EEO employer.
