A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Looking for a Per Diem SLP opportunity in Syracuse with a clinically focused organization? Do you believe in using evidenced based practices in providing speech therapy? Competitive hourly rate and flexible hours. As an SLP with Language Fundamentals, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of your patients by: Collaborating with the team of PT/OT, nurses, physicians & dieticians to meet the comprehensive needs of the residents in the facility Providing short team rehabilitation, geared toward a functional return home Providing restorative therapy to improve the quality of life of the long-term residents in the facility Interacting with families and nursing staff on patients' after-care programs Treating under the Patient Driven Payment Model Reimbursement System Observing in the administration of on-site FEES testing for patients with swallowing disorders Our unique network of SLPs believes in collaboration & support geared toward providing high quality speech therapy services to the patients we serve. Per Diem positions are only available to CCC-SLPs.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology (SLP) therapy program Current State licensure as a CCC-SLP Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Goal oriented approach with ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to utilize technology to perform electronic documentation For over 20 years, Language Fundamentals has provided medical speech language and swallowing therapy services, while maintaining our commitment to providing a kind & caring patient experience.
